Gynura bicolor (Suizenjina) is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Asteraceae family, which is characterized by edible green and purple leaves. It is cultivated in southeast Asia, China, and Japan. Among the various cultivation areas of Gynura bicolor in Japan, Yamamoto town is located in the southern part of the Miyagi prefecture. It was severely affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11, 2011, which led to 637 deaths and 2,217 houses being completely destroyed. Since the disaster, Gynura bicolor’s regional brand, Kinjisou (Date Murasaki), has been produced and sold in Yamamoto. In this study, we conducted an interview survey on the current situation of agriculture in Yamamoto with students and faculty members of the Tohoku Fukushi University and the elderly/small-scale farmer in Yamamoto to assess the cultivation exchange of Gynura bicolor. Qualitative and inductive analyses of the interview responses were performed for four different categories (progress of Date Murasaki cultivation, about Date Murasaki, Date Murasaki awareness, and Yamamoto town agriculture). The results of these analyses revealed the extent of elderly/small-scale agriculture in the disaster area.（Gynura bicolor（標準和名：スイゼンジナ）はキク科の多年生草本植物であり、緑と紫の2色の葉が特徴で食用に供され、東南アジア及び中国、日本で栽培されている。日本国内におけるGynura bicolor栽培地域のうち、宮城県南部に位置する山元町は、2011年3月11日に発生した東日本大震災により死者637名、家屋の全壊2217棟などの甚大な被害を受けた地域である。震災後に山元町ではGynura bicolorの地域ブランドである金時草「伊達むらさき」を生産・販売している。本研究では東北福祉大学の学生及び教員と山元町の高齢・零細農家とのGynura bicolorの栽培交流を通じ、山元町の農業の現状ついてヒアリング調査を行った。ヒアリング調査の内容を質的帰納的に分析した結果、「伊達むらさき栽培の経過」、「伊達むらさきについて」、「伊達むらさきの認知度について」、「山元町の農業について」、の4つのカテゴリーに分類され、カテゴリーの内容から被災地における高齢・零細農業の現状の一端が明らかになった。）
