Effect of exercise at mild intensity on the serum levels of hypoxanthine was studied in eleven healthy elderly subjects. In the sedentary group, the serum hypoxanthine levels at 10 min after completion of a walk load was significantly higher than that before exercise. This result suggests that mild intensity exercise increases the serum hypoxanthine concentration in the elderly leading inactive daily life.（11名の高齢者を対象に、5分間の歩行を行いその際の血清ヒポキサンチンを運動負荷前後で採血し測定を行った。また日常の活動量から低活動群と活動群に分けヒポキサンチンの変化について検討した。運動負荷量に差はなかったが、低活動群は運動終了10分後、有意なヒポキサンチンの上昇がみられ、また運動前後のヒポキサンチンの変化量は活動群に比べ有意に高い値を示した。継続的な運動は、低強度の運動時の血清ヒポキサンチン増加を抑制することを報告した。）
