The purpose of the present research is to demonstrate that discrepancy between internal forgiveness and forgiving behavior becomes more significant in intragroup conflicts (two-person conflicts within a group) than in interpersonal conflicts. Results showing that the conflict situation affected only internal forgiveness but not forgiving behavior did not support Hypothesis 1: the extent of internal forgiveness indicated by the participants would not differ either in intragroup conflict or in interpersonal conflict. The results also did not support Hypothesis 2: the participants would be more likely to exhibit forgiving behavior in intragroup conflict than in interpersonal conflict.
