Even after the end of the 20th century of warfare, our world is still beset by a number of serious conflicts. On the very day the 2008 Olympics " Peace Festival" began in Beijing, an armed international conflict broke out between Russia and the Republic of Georgia. These strife-filled conditions indicate a deep-rooted propensity in human societies toward conflict.
